most random post ever.

i love talking to and meeting new people.

it’s so refreshing.

i love learning about other people.

i love when music gives me chills, brings tears to my eyes, and puts me on cloud 9.

i love when people show passion.

I’ve been walking around ecstatic all day. I got up early and refreshed because I slept like a baby ( i think it’s because i was so happy).  I spent the day with AMAZING friends shopping.  I finally went to Lush and I’m in love, it’s going to be a dangerous habit but if their products actually work I’ll be super stoked.

I can’t wait for Christmas.

I want to bake.

and listen to music.

and doing some AWESOME (w)rapping.

I feel like my life is a movie with a really sad soundtrack. No I’m not being emo here.  Its pouring rain and I hear someone practicing violin and its very sad sounding.  I guess that’s what I get for living near a music school hahaha. At least it’s not loud and obnoxious.

Swoon.  Last night I made the decision to go see Bruno Mars at the NY State Fair with one of my best friends.  It was a free with admission concert so I jumped at the opportunity.  They estimated 10,000 people which for this stage would be a LOT of people, especially on a Wednesday night.  Knowing this I really didn’t care about being close or anything I more or less just wanted to hear him and see if he was equally as good live.  We’ll there was WAY more than 10,000 people.  To me it looked around 20,000 but according to the newspaper it was estimated at 35,000 breaking all records for highest attendance to a show at this stage.  It was completely insane and I was completely unaware of his boyband like following (screaming girls, 12 year olds crying, etc) BUT all that aside he and his band were absolutely amazing.  SUPER stoked I decided to go.  I also realized that I really have missed just going to shows with friends for fun.  Yes because of my job I’ve had the opportunity to see some awesome concert, most of which I would have never paid to see, but there is nothing like going and just being a fan.

Local Music

I’m a serious believer in local music.  I’m fully convinced that some (if not most) of todays best music is coming from small local bands.  I’d love to get some recommendations on good local bands in other cities.

My top 3 Rochester local bands:

Sports

Joywave

Doctors

What are some of your favorite local bands?

Jill of all trades?

I can…Bake/decorate you a kick ass cake, do your nails, wax your eyebrows, arts&crafts the shit out of your life, and help you figure out your music career.

All of these things are things I have really enjoyed doing/learning.  But NOTHING means as much to me as music.  There is nothing I have ever been more passionate about since the day I was born.  I have wanted to work in something involving music since I was probably 12.  I’ve tried playing and lack at that.  But since I was 12, I have been determined to do whatever it takes.  There are few things is nothing I am more proud of than the amount of shows I have been to/worked or the amount of music in my collection.  There is no feeling I’ve ever had that come close to the way I feel when I hear live music.  It is all I’ve ever wanted.*  I will do any job related to music, big or small.  I have quit perfectly good jobs JUST to be able to keep my Summer job with Live Nation.  I have taken a very lesser paying job working at the box office for the RPO.  And although I might work 3 jobs and have virtually no money to show for it, I refuse to give up my passion. What makes me happy.

I found out yesterday that the grocery store I work part time at is hiring another full time person in my bakery.  A year ago I would have jumped at the opportunity and taken anyone down who tried to get it over me.  But I can’t help to think that if it had happened, I would be just as miserable as I am there today and right now I only work there 2 days a week.  So although it would be a good money up and a stable job, I think I will take my working 30+ days in a row at a job I LIKE going to every day (even if it pays less) and I will continue trying to enjoy life.  Considering I want to literally cry every time I have to go in to that other job, I think this is for the best.

And if it takes me 100 more jobs to find just the right one for me…then that’s what I will do.  But I will NEVER settle for a job that makes me way more money but also makes me miserable.  Never again.

Music > Cake Decorating

Happiness > Money.

*all of these things may explain my lack of social success.

I haven’t been on tumblr ALL week…which is pretty good. 5 of 5 was one of the GREATEST experiences of my life…worth every penny. It really just reminded me how much music is what i want my entire life to be about. AND how bad I want to be in the city.

Saturday went to day one of bamboozle…it was hot as fucking balls but it was the first time in 3 years me and my friend could actually go and relax because we weren’t working and there wasn’t anyone we were DYING to see.  we saw some randoms..and of course i had to watch Hanson just so I could make it 6 days in a row.  The greatest thing EVER was how I got atleast 10 people in front of me to move out of the crowd cause I told them there was no way they’d play MMMBop and I know that was all those people cared about. And I sooo totally called it.

***Note to all idiots: They aren’t going to play a song you and your friends have been making fun of for the last 12 years.  The exact song that will make you never give them a second chance to prove to you they are one of the most talented bands out there. so just go fucking watch Ke$ha and get heat stroke. kthnx.

And of course we watched out good friend Jayce (Secret Secret Dino Club) play. I LOLed at all the little girls.

Today we were on a sole mission to go to Ikea..I think we were both more excited to go there than we were to go to Bamboozle. We went to the one in Paramus and soon remembered that everything in Bergen county is CLOSED on Sundays. Which makes NO sense since I’m 99% sure the majority of their population is JEWISH. So whatever Bergen can suck it…we rerouted and went to the one in Elizabeth. So it was all fine and dandy til we realized they were doing construction on 3 sections of the store meaning no customers could get to the merchandise in the candle, outdoor and part of the lighting sections. WTF? thats not goo business. So after arguing with several employees I made one go in and get me these candles I saw peeping through the tarp. Molly 1 Ikea 0.

Overall This week was amazing and I don’t want to go back to life tomorrow.

Ps. i have NEVER seen SOOOO many uncharacteristicly gaged ears…like really!? next thing you know they’ll be selling 0 gage Barbie.

Strong Enough to Break

I think anyone who’s dying to sign to a major label or any label really or someone who wants to even work at a major label should really watch this documentary

And in a life long mode of defense…anyone who doubts Hanson’s talent as musicians should also watch this documentary.

I would also love to know what these people thing/how they reacted to this film…and to where the guys are today.
